JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – Two people were killed in a crash on Wednesday on Interstate 57 in Jefferson County.
Illinois State Police say the accident happened at about 2:30 p.m. when a semi truck, parked on the right shoulder, was hit from behind by a pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup, a 73-year-old Grafton, Illinois man was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the pickup, a 70-year-old Grafton woman, died a short time later at a hospital. The driver of the semi was not hurt.
