‘8th Grade’ R-Rating Waived for Younger Audiences

Eight graders across the nation can now catch Bo Burnham’s new movie ‘8th Grade’ in select theaters for free. The film, directed by comedian Bo Burnham, follows a shy young girl going through her last week of middle school in today’s social media era.

The film has received critical acclaim for its accurate depiction of young adults in the modern world.

A24, the film’s distributor, announced it is waiving the R-rating only on Wednesday, August 8 to allow kids of all ages to experience the film. There is at least one participating theater in each state, including Ronnie’s 20 Cinema in St. Louis, River East 21 in Chicago, and Cinemark Fayette Mall 16 in Lexington, Kentucky.
