Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is set to release on August 9, 2019.
The film stars Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio as two actors trying to make a name for themselves in Hollywood. One of them is a former Western TV series actor named Rick Dalton (played by DiCaprio), the other a stunt double named Cliff Booth (Pitt). It’s set in 1969 Los Angeles, during the time of the brutal Charles Manson murders. The character Rick is also neighbors with the very famous Sharon Tate. See the connection?
For those who don’t know their Hollywood history, Sharon Tate was a Golden Globe nominated actress and model. Her life was cut short along with four others in her home on the night of August 9, 1969. They were the victims of the Manson Family murders. She was 8 months pregnant with a son shared with director Roman Polanski.

The Manson Family was a cult in California with nearly 100 followers led by Charles Manson; the majority of followers in the commune were young women. They were brainwashed into believing Charles Manson was a manifestation of Jesus and his claimed “prophecies” of a race war.
So you can see where this movie is gonna go, considering it’s set to release on the anniversary of the murders.
The full cast includes big name stars like Margot Robbie, Timothy Olyphant, Luke Perry, Damian Lewis, Dakota Fanning, Al Pacino, Emile Hirsch, Clifton Collins Jr, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Keith Jefferson, Nicholas Hammond and Scoot McNairy. It’s directed by Quentin Tarantino, and judging by his directorial style, we may expect this to be a gritty and bloody film.
