Reward offered after bomb threats made towards Mt. Vernon business

 

MT. VERNON, Ill. (WJPF) – Management at Mt. Vernon’s Continental Tire plant are offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person who’s made recent bomb threats towards the facility.

Plant management says over the past several weeks, two bomb threats have been made. No explosives were found either time, but work had to be stopped and the plant had to be evacuated. Until the person is caught, additional security measures are being put in place at the tire plant.

Anyone with information about the bomb threats is asked to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at (618) 244-8004.
