Two arrested after guns and ammo stolen from Zeigler home

ZEIGLER, Ill. (WJPF) – A southern Illinois man faces burglary charges over stolen guns.

Zeigler Police say that on Thursday, March 24, a home on North Main Street was broken into and several guns and boxes of ammunition were taken out of a locked safe.

The investigation  led police to Carbondale, where on Tuesday, March 29, law enforcement arrested one person and recovered some of the stolen guns. Further investigation led police back to Zeigler, where on Wednesday, March 30, they arrested Dakota Rushing on charges of burglary, theft over 500 dollars, and criminal damage to property.

He was taken to the Franklin County Jail.
