SPRING, Tx. (WJPF) – Dr. Loren Klaus, the first President of Shawnee Community College has passed away. He was 93.
According to a statement released by Klaus’ family and published by Shawnee Community College, Klaus died March 16 at a retirement community in Texas.
Loren Klaus was appointed president of what was then Shawnee Junior College in 1968 and served in that role until 1987.
Loren Klaus will be laid to rest in his native Carlinville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
