As Summer Shootouts come to an end, Mt. Vernon rises to top spot in SI Coaches Poll

Summer Shootouts had some area coaches rethink who the top team in Southern Illinois is and that was reflected in the newest poll.  The Mt. Vernon Rams, led by second year head coach Tim Holloway and the region’s top prospect, N.J. Benson, have been voted the top team in Southern Illinois.

Coming in at second, is the Way-Too-Early Poll’s top team, the Nashville Hornets.

Despite those two teams being the favorites, four other programs earned first place votes in the form of Massac County, Marion, Centralia, and Breese Central.
