Four new cases of COVID-19 reported in southern Illinois Sunday

(WJPF) — Three new cases of COVID-19 were reported in southern Illinois Sunday.

Two cases were reported in Jackson County. A woman in her forties is believed to have been exposed to the virus through community spread. She’s recovering at home in isolation. A woman in her sixties is also believed to have been exposed to the virus through community spread. She’s recovering in isolation in a long-term care facility. This is the twelfth case of COVID-19 reported in Jackson County, including one death.

One case was reported in Williamson County. A woman in her twenties is believed to have been exposed to the virus through recent travel to another state. She’s recovering at home in isolation. This is the fifth confirmed case of COVID-19 reported in Williamson County.
