Illinois Congressman Danny Davis says he’ll introduce legislation to increase the federal tax on guns and ammunition.
The measure would double the federal excise tax on guns and impose a fifty percent excise tax on ammunition. It’s currently taxed at eleven percent.
The tax revenue would support gun violence prevention.
The proposal is supported by gubernatorial candidate Chris Kennedy.
