WEST CITY, Ill. (WJPF) – A small earthquake was detected Sunday night in Franklin County.
The 2.2 magnitude quake was recorded at 5:31 p.m. just south of Benton. A few people in the immediate area reported feeling the earthquake. No damage was reported.
Earthquakes registering less than a 2.5 on the Richter Scale are usually not able to be felt by humans.
