Weather Service: EF-1 tornado touched down Tuesday in McCracken County, KY

PADUCAH, Ky. (WJPF) – The National Weather Service says an EF-1 tornado touched down in McCracken County, Kentucky during a round of severe weather that moved through the region Tuesday morning.

A survey team reports that the twister, with peak winds near 90 miles per hour, touched down northwest of Kevil, Kentucky and stayed on the ground for just over half a mile.

The tornado cut a path of destruction about 50 yards wide, knocking down trees and damaging buildings.
