West Frankfort man cited in Scott’s Law crash

MARION, Ill. (WJPF) – A state police squad car was sideswiped in Marion Tuesday, the tenth time this year that a state police vehicle has been hit while on the side of the road.

It happened at about 11:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 57. 

ISP says Lucas Williams, 37, of West Frankfort, sideswiped the police vehicle, damaging a door and a mirror.  The trooper was inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.  

No injuries were reported.  Lucas Williams was cited for a Scott’s Law Violation.
