One arrested after shots fired in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — A fight between acquaintances in Carbondale escalated to gun fire Friday night.

It happened just after 10:30 p.m. in the 700 block of North Giant City Road.

Police say they received multiple reports of shots fired.

It’s believed 21-year-old Aarion Haskins fired several shots at a vehicle that was driving away, one of them hitting the window of a nearby business. Haskins himself then fled the scene.

Police later located the Haskins vehicle in the 1100 block of East Walnut Street. The other vehicle was found unoccupied in the 900 block of East College Street.

Haskins faces multiple charges including Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and not having a FOID card.
