Jackson County residents now have a new way to keep track of crime in their neighborhoods.
The Carbondale Police Department has launched a new online crime-mapping tool called Citizen Connect. The system allows residents to view recent incidents across the city using an interactive map.
The information displayed on the map comes directly from the department’s reporting system. However, officials say some incidents may take time to appear as officers review and update reports.
Residents can view the Citizen Connect crime map by visiting the Carbondale Police Department’s website.
