Williamson County Deputies Arrest Felon on Drug and Gun Charges After Traffic Stop

Deputies with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop near the intersection of Herrin Road and Park Avenue in Herrin on November 24 after spotting a vehicle without a proper registration plate.

Authorities identified the driver as Opal Teschky. Deputies say she did not have valid proof of insurance, and they noticed an ATV with a tampered ignition in the truck bed.

During a search, deputies reportedly found cocaine residue inside a metal tin, just over 19 grams of crystal methamphetamine, more than 3 grams of crack cocaine, a loaded handgun, and additional drug paraphernalia.

Investigators say Teschky is a convicted felon and was taken into custody without incident. She now faces multiple charges, including possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
