Illinois State Police have arrested a Vandalia man in connection with the death of 14-year-old Kylie Toberman.
Vandalia Police found Toberman’s body last Friday at a home on West Gallatin Street. Investigators quickly identified 43-year-old Arnold Rivera as a suspect and arrested him within hours. ISP also says a social media post tied to the case is part of the ongoing investigation.
Rivera is now charged with first-degree murder, criminal sexual assault, and concealment of a homicidal death. He remains in custody.
Multiple local, state, and federal agencies assisted in the investigation, which is still ongoing.
