Teachers in West Frankfort District 168 have filed unfair labor practice charges, accusing the district of failing to bargain in good faith.
Union leaders say contract talks have dragged on since May, even with a federal mediator, and claim the district has pushed for cuts to pay and benefits. The complaint was filed this week with the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board.
The union represents about 125 teachers and says they want an agreement that avoids disrupting the school year.
