Shooting investigation led to lockdowns at three schools in Marion

MARION, Ill. (WJPF) – A shooting investigation in Marion led to lockdowns at three schools.

On Friday August 15, police learned a 20-year-old man was being treated for a gunshot wound at Deaconess Illinois Medical Center just before 11 a.m.

Officers responded to the hospital and were alerted to a possible location near several schools. 

Marion High School, Marion Junior High, and Longfellow School were placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure.

The victim was treated and released from the hospital and the lockdown was lifted.
