Carbondale Man Facing Multiple Felony Charges

A Carbondale man is facing multiple felony charges after police say they witnessed illegal gambling and suspected drug sales Monday evening.

Carbondale Police say officers were in the 700 block of South Lewis Lane around 5:05 p.m. on March 9 when they observed the activity and arrested 32-year-old Simeon Patterson of Carbondale.

During the arrest, officers say Patterson was found with cannabis, cocaine, and a firearm that had previously been reported stolen.

Police later executed a search warrant at a home connected to the case and say they recovered additional evidence related to firearms violations.

Patterson faces several charges, including armed violence and multiple weapons offenses, and is being held in the Jackson County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.
