A pedestrian was injured Thursday afternoon after being struck by a semi on Interstate 57 in Marion.
Illinois State Police say the crash happened just before 4 o’clock in the northbound lanes near milepost 53 in Williamson County.
Troopers with State Police District 10 responded to the scene, where a semi-tractor trailer and a pedestrian were involved. The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital. The extent of their injuries has not been released.
The right lane of northbound I-57 was temporarily closed but has since reopened. The crash remains under investigation.
