The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was found unresponsive at the Speedway Truck Stop in Ina.
Deputies say they were called to the scene on January second, where 34-year-old John Nickerson of Williston, North Dakota, was found unresponsive inside a vehicle. EMS personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
Jefferson County Coroner Roger Hayse confirmed the death, and Illinois State Police crime scene technicians assisted. An autopsy is planned, and the investigation remains ongoing.
