A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle early New Year’s Day in Carbondale.
Police say officers responded to the 300 block of East Walnut Street around 2:22 Thursday morning. The 57-year-old pedestrian was taken to an area hospital and remains in guarded condition.
The driver stayed on scene and was cooperative. Police say the pedestrian walked into the roadway outside of a crosswalk.
