Crews responded to an early-morning house fire in Marion on Yesterday.
Firefighters were called just before 2:40 a.m. to a home on East Boyton Street near Cedar Lane, When crews arrived, the home was fully engulfed, with flames coming through the roof. Firefighters were told a man was trapped inside.
According to the Marion Fire Department, a neighbor directed crews to the location of the 93-year-old victim inside the home. Firefighters rescued him from a bedroom and began CPR.
The fire department says the man is now stable and expected to make a good recovery.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the home is considered a total loss.
