Carbondale Police are investigating a shooting that happened early Thursday morning in the 500 block of South Graham Street.
Officers responded around 2:50 a.m. on November 21 after a 911 caller reported being attacked inside their home by an acquaintance armed with a gun. According to police, the victim shot the 17-year-old suspect while defending themselves. The suspect was hit twice and wounded.

A second juvenile suspect was later arrested on charges including armed robbery and unlawful use of a weapon. That teen was not injured and is scheduled for a juvenile detention hearing at the Jackson County Courthouse.
Police have not released the names of either suspect, citing the Illinois Juvenile Justice Act.
