Southern Illinois University Carbondale is receiving a major boost to its business programs. SIU announced a $2.1 million gift from alumnus Harvey Michaels and his wife, Collie, to create the new Harvey N. Michaels Center for Academic Success and Engagement in the College of Business and Analytics.
The news was unveiled during the Chancellor’s Reception in Houston. With matching support from the Deloitte Foundation, the center—nicknamed “The Harv”—will serve as a hub for student support, career preparation, and modern learning inside Rehn Hall.
The donation supports SIU’s Imagine 2030 campaign, which has now raised more than $435 million toward its $500 million goal.
