Investigation leads to an Arrest

 A high-risk operation near Texico led to the arrest of a local resident on multiple charges.

Early Wednesday, members of the Mt. Vernon Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a home in the 17000-block of East Tea Rose Road. The sheriff’s office said the warrant focused on illegal firearms and was part of an ongoing investigation.

Authorities arrested 46-year-old Jack Heinrich. The sheriff’s office said they discovered criminal evidence at the scene.

Heinrich was cited with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of an altered firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon, and possession of a controlled substance.

Heinrich was taken to the Jefferson County Justice Center and later taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
