The Southern Illinois Made Expo is once again giving back to local veterans.
On Monday, organizers presented more than $79,000 in donations at the Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois.
This year’s beneficiaries — Down the Leash and the Marion VA Food Pantry — each received nearly $40,000 to support their work with veterans.
The money was raised during the Expo held back in July, which showcased Southern Illinois businesses and artisans.
Since it began in 2018, the event has generated over $400,000 for veteran-focused charities across the region.
Organizers say the Expo not only highlights local businesses but also helps make a difference in the lives of those who’ve served our country.
