Human Trafficking Sting leads to 8 arrest

Illinois State Police say eight people were arrested during a human trafficking demand suppression operation in Marion last week.

The two-day operation took place October 14th and 15th and focused on identifying individuals attempting to engage in commercial sex acts.

State Police say the effort was part of a larger initiative to fight human trafficking across Illinois, involving local, state, and federal agencies.

Officials say they remain committed to protecting vulnerable individuals through ongoing enforcement operations statewide.
