Carbondale Police responded late Tuesday night to reports of shots fired on South Emerald Lane.
Officers say a 16-year-old boy fired a gun multiple times inside his home, damaging property but causing no injuries. The teen ran from the scene but returned as officers arrived.
He was arrested on several charges, including Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm without a FOID card.
Police say the juvenile was taken to the Jackson County Jail and will be transported to a juvenile detention center. His name has not been released in accordance with state law.
