The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that happened early Friday morning, October 11th, in rural Dowell.
Deputies say two men were traveling west on Dowell Road near Chammess Road when their motorcycles collided. One man was killed, and the other was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have now identified the riders as 22-year-old Collin Rice of Blue Island and 22-year-old Tyler Hill of Marion. Rice was pronounced dead at the scene, while Hill was transported to a local hospital.
Investigators say alcohol is believed to be a factor, and neither rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
