Carbondale Police Arrest Two in Robbery Investigations

Carbondale Police say two men are behind bars following a pair of armed robbery investigations.

On September 23rd, officers say two suspects in a black Ford Focus approached a victim on South Cedarview Street. One suspect showed what looked like a gun, while the other stole the victim’s property before taking off.

The next day, officers tracked down the car on East Main Street and arrested one suspect. Later, police say they stopped a U-Haul truck near University Mall after reports of a shirtless man with a gun. That’s where they arrested the second suspect and found an Airsoft weapon inside.

Both men are facing armed robbery charges, with one of them also cited in the second incident. Police say the case remains under investigation, and both suspects are being held at the Jackson County Jail.
