Former Logan star East sets CEBL scoring record

Over the weekend, a former John A. Logan men’s basketball star made history.

Sean East II, a former NJCAA Player of the Year, set the Canadian Elite Basketball League single-season scoring record with 546 points.  He made those record-setting points at the free-throw line on Sunday night.

East went on to star at Mizzou after Logan, leaving with Kyle Smithpeters when the former Logan coach joined the Tigers coaching staff in 2022.  East then spent time with the Lakers Summer League team last summer before playing in the Romanian League last year.

This season, East averaged 22.8 points and shot 53.4% from the field, 41.9% from beyond the arc, and 90.7% from the stripe.
