A former Saluki made their MLB debut over the weekend. Friday night, the Tampa Bay Rays called up Tristan Peters to the big leagues.
Peters was amember of the 2021 SIU team that won 40 games and was the best hitter that season with a .355 average, as well as 20 doubles and 55 RBIs.
It was a tough weekend to debut on with the Rays playing the Mariners. Peters went 0-for-9 in his first weekend in the big leagues with five strikeouts.
