MARION, Ill. (WJPF) – A man has been arrested after stealing a handgun from a parked vehicle.
It happened early Thursday morning, south of Marion, on Neilson Crossing Road.
Matthew Rodier was arrested a short time later after someone called police about him trespassing on property near Grassy Road.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says Rodier placed the loaded weapon on the ground when approached by police and was arrested without a fight. He also had an active warrant for failing to appear in court on a meth possession charge.
