
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill (WJPF) – Two men are facing multiple charges after a traffic stop in Williamson County.
On the morning of June 6th deputies from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Greenbriar Road and Illinois Route 13 after observing a vehicle with expired registration.
A traffic stop was initiated and the two occupants were identified as Justus Poole and Shawn Shreves.
A visible uncased firearm was observed inside the vehicle. Both occupants were removed from the vehicle while Deputies secured the weapon. Further investigation revealed that both Poole and Shreves are convicted felons and legally prohibited from possessing firearms.
Deputies also located open containers of alcohol and glass smoking pipe which later tested positive for Methamphetamine.
Poole and Shreves were both arrested and cited for Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of Firearm by a Felon, Possession of Stolen Property, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol.
They were taken to the Williamson County Jail.
