Christopher man arrested for home invasion

CHRISTOPHER, Ill (WJPF) – A man has been arrested after a home invasion in Christopher.

On Sunday June 22, an officer with the Christopher Police Department was dispatched to the area of West Sylvia Street for a report of a subject who had entered a home and began battering a tenant.

While en route to the residence, the officer observed a male subject with a small head injury, running eastbound from the area of the residence.

The officer exited the vehicle and attempted to make contact, but after several verbal commands, the subject fled on foot. 

After a brief chase, the officer deployed a taser and was able to successfully take the subject into custody.

The suspect was identified as 50 year old Jonathan Love of Christopher.

Love was taken back to the scene where the victims positively identified him as the suspect.

Love was charged with Home Invasion, Battery, Criminal Trespass to Residence, and Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer.

He was taken to the Franklin County Jail.
