SIU star slugger Matt Schark earned First Team All-Region honors from the ABCA Midwest on Tuesday.
Schark had a fantastic senior season for SIU. He batted .340 and mashed 24 home runs while driving in 80 RBIs. Both single-season records for home runs and RBI records were broken by Schark this year.
He finished fourth in the nation in home runs this season and eighth in RBIs.
With such a standout season, there is a good chance Schark will hear his name called in the MLB Draft this year. The draft is July 13 and 14.
