Goreville Baseball defeated Marion 7-6 Monday evening. The win marked head coach Shawn Tripp’s 450th career win.
Tripp has been the head coach of Blackcats Baseball since the 2002-03 school year. He’s led the Blackcats to 13 seasons with at least 20 wins during his time and multiple state tournament appearances – including a state championship in 2016. He also led the Blackcats to a 2nd place finish in 2010, third place finishes in 2011, 2017, and 2018, and a fourth place finish in 2023.
The Blackcats are 14-7 this season and next host Hamilton County Wednesday at 4:30pm.
