CHRISTOPHER, Ill. (WJPF) – A Christopher firefighter was injured when a burning house exploded.
The blast Thursday morning sent the roof of a porch crashing down on top of the firefighter standing underneath. Others on the scene lifted the debris off of his body and he was able to walk away with only minor injuries.
The house on South Snider Street is a total loss.
