CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – A Carbondale woman has been arrested and facing arson charges.
Last Tuesday, December 12, Carbondale police and firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire at the Heritage Motel. The fire was extinguished and no injuries reported.
After investigating, crews determined the fire to be the result of an arson and identified a suspect, 36 year old Rebecca Grant.
Grant was located and arrested on Monday, December 18 and faces charges of Aggravated Arson, Residential Arson, Endangering the Life or Health of a Child, and Obstructing Justice.
Grant was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.
