Illinois State Police Investigate Scott’s Law Crash Involving IDOT Worker

Illinois State Police are investigating a scott’s law crash involving an IDOT worker.

Around 2:30 am yesterday, officials investigated a three-vehicle traffic crash where an IDOT worker was hit by a motorist who failed to move over on Interstate 57 in Cook County.

An IDOT worker was on the side of the road providing traffic control for a prior crash when a Nissan Rogue traveling northbound, struck a car and then struck the IDOT worker.

The driver of the Nissan, 29-year-old Kennethia Howliet of Chicago, was issued citations for Improper Passing of a Stationary Emergency Vehicle and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

The IDOT worker was transported to an area hospital with injuries. No other injuries were reported.
