Texas man admits to trafficking cocaine through southern Illinois

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – An alleged drug dealer from Texas has been caught trafficking cocaine through southern Illinois.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says Jesus Garza Trevino first got the attention of law enforcement around 6:00 p.m. Sunday  when, after spotting a marked squad car in the parking lot of the Road Ranger Travel Station, tried to hide his face.

Trevino was a passenger in a car that left the Road Ranger; deputies followed.  After getting less than a mile away, the driver made a u-turn and Trevino got out of the car, and began to approach the squad car.

A police dog indicated narcotics were likely in Trevino’s car and it was searched. Inside police found roughly two ounces of cocaine. Some hidden in the glove box, more hidden inside of a fast food burger.

Jesus Garza Trevino admitted the cocaine was his and went on to tell police he was planning to sell it in Indiana. Trevino was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
