Saluki outfielder Boucher picked in 10th round of MLB Draft

Saluki outfielder Pier-Oliver Boucher was selected in the MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves in the 10th round on Monday.  Boucher is just the second Saluki to be selected since Lance Rhodes became head coach of SIU’s baseball team in 2019.

Boucher appeared in 57 games this past season.  He was one of the leading top batters in the Saluki lineup, batting .331 with 16 home runs, 11 doubles, and four triples.  Boucher also had 19 stolen bases this past season.

Tristan Peters was the first Saluki selected in the Rhodes era.  The outfielder was picked by the Brewers in in the 7th round of 2021 MLB Draft.
