Illegal handgun found during Carbondale traffic stop

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — A Carbondale man was arrested after police found an illegal gun in his vehicle during a traffic stop.

Carbondale Police say Immanuel Salley, 21, was pulled over around 11:50 p.m. Friday due to a suspended vehicle registration. 

During the traffic stop, police found a handgun inside of Salley’s vehicle.  He did not have a valid FOID car and was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.  Salley was also cited for driving on a suspended license.  He was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
