Arrests have been made in connection to a stolen vehicle in Williamson County

Pittsburg, Ill. (WJPF) Arrests have been made in connection to a stolen vehicle in Williamson County..

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen vehicle on February 23rd, from a residence in Pittsburg. The vehicle was located at another residence in Pittsburg on February 27th.

The scene confirmed that two people had been in possession and operating the stolen vehicle. The search also led to the location of a sawed-off shotgun which had a defaced serial number.

The shotgun is believed to have been used in the commission of another crime several days earlier and investigation into that matter is ongoing.

Dylan Russell of Johnston City was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. Alicia Scott of Pittsburg was charged with unlawful use of a weapon. The stolen vehicle was returned to its owner.

Russell and Scott were transported to the Williamson County Jail.
