Illinois State Police investigate officer involved shooting in Litchfield

Litchfield, IL. (WJPF) – Illinois State Police are investigating an officer involved shooting.

On Thursday, November 24th just after 10am ISP and officers from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office, and the Litchfield Police Department responded to a call of a person with a gun. Officers located the suspect in the parking lot of Taylorville Community Credit Union.

The subject displayed a firearm and officers discharged their firearms. The suspect was struck, disarmed and transported to a hospital. No officers were struck or injured during the incident.

The investigation is open and ongoing.
