Juvenile arrested in connection to Carbondale shots fired

 

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – One juvenile was arrested after a series of shots fired incidents early Friday in Carbondale.

Police say at about 4:00 a.m. Friday, the occupant of a small SUV opened fire on another vehicle in the area of East Cindy and South Wall Streets. The occupants of the vehicles knew each other and eventually crashed into one another. Two homes in the area were damaged by the gunfire, but no injuries were reported.

Around the same time, police were called to the area of West Walnut and South Maple for another report of shots fired. Another home was damaged, but again, no one was hurt.

Police say the incidents are related.

A juvenile was arrested Friday on a weapons charge. Police say the investigation continues.
