Last week Anna-Jonesboro football coach Brett Detering was selected as one of four active IHSA Football coaches to the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Detering has spent the past 25 years as a football coach, all at Anna-Jonesboro, amassing a 169-94 record. During his tenure at Anna-Jonesboro, Detering has led the Wildcats to the postseason 17 times, including 14 straight appearances from 2000-2014.
Detering has won 5 SIRR Conference titles, three of which have come thanks to an undefeated regular season. Three of his teams reached the state semifinals in both class 3A and 4A.
