Wednesday the IHSA Board of Directors approved 7 proposals. One of those proposals was presented by Anna-Jonesboro football coach and principal Brett Detering earlier this year.
Detering proposed reducing the required practices for students returning from military service – usually those who go through boot camp in the summer – so that they can still participate in early season competitions.
The IHSA Board agreed to reduce practice requirements for students returning from military service from 12 practices to 10.
