Brockmeyer started off the weekend setting new career highs in points (34) and rebounds (16) as the Salukis beat Eastern Illinois. Brockmeyer shot 12-18 (67%) against Eastern, and 10 of her rebounds were offensive boards. The very next day against Western Illinois, Brockmeyer again set a new career high in rebounds with 18 to go with 17 points scored and four assists. Overall, the graduate forward averaged 25.5 points and 17 rebounds over the weekend, shooting 60% (18-of-30) from the field and 78.9% (15-of-19) from the free throw line. She now has double-doubles in three of the Salukis’ five game this season and has scored at least 14 points in four of SIU’s five games this season. The 18 rebounds against WIU are the second-most for any Valley player in a single game this season. Brockmeyer is third in the MVC in points-per-game (18) and is second in rebounds-per-game (12.4). Brockmeyer leads the conference in offensive rebounding with an average of 4.8 per game. This is the second time Brockmeyer has been awarded MVC Player of the Week honors.

The Salukis return to Banterra Center for their home opener against Quincy University at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12.
